What Is Your Assessment Of The Learning Curve For Online Tutoring Services In The U.s.?

When it comes to a school’s website, what kind of traffic, does it have a good SEO, and what features are there for students? Don’t miss this quiz to figure out whether the school has some of the great resources we talk about in School Labs.

Last year, the gap between the annual cost of learning and the cost of tests to pass tests narrowed to 1 percent of student loan debt, mostly due to online tutoring in test prep. This gap represents savings for over 2 million students who are skipping university to avoid steep debt.

Starting this fall, more students and schools are taking online tutoring seriously. Scores of standardized tests, including GRE and ACT, have put providers on the map.

According to the 5 in 4 U.S. Department of Education report, nine out of 10 students and 67 percent of schools believe online tutoring is necessary. They say other factors such as technology are also important to tutoring success.

Some schools, such as Golden Gate University, have it “grade-for-grade” online tutoring experiences, where it’s free.

The Online Learning Platform Strategy Report, released in October, notes that online tutoring is not a new concept. There have been online options for years, and online tutoring has been used to guide healthcare seekers during medical planning, back to school, job searches, and even on the eve of a marriage proposal. In an interview, Rich Stueck, founder of online learning firm JumpU, said “online tutoring is here to stay,” with online tutoring becoming the next mainstream online learning platform.

See Whether Your Target Audience Is Online Tutoring

Figure out if your student would take advantage of a tutoring platform that’s free or chargeable. Some online learning platforms charge close to $300 for a 2-hour tutoring session. Stueck said that students who have trouble with a few test items can get more than enough online help to prepare for a test if the right cost model for them is found.

During a career search, students should consider the tutoring of online learning services if the platforms help them figure out what they’re looking for.

Are Teachers Included in Tutoring?

Online learning platforms include online tutoring platforms that will work with your student’s teachers. Likewise, some schools will put their teachers in the online tutoring company’s program. In an interview, Stueck said “a good service partner will be generous about cross-fertilizing, and they will be willing to work with someone’s teacher who can help with an individual test.”

Some online tutoring platforms, such as JumpU, offer one-on-one or group tutoring. They also make testing available to test takers throughout the course of the semester.

Are There Big Constraints for Online Learning Platform Tutors?

Once a student downloads the free online tutoring software, they’ll be asked to verify their authenticity as a tutor. Some virtual tutors can be expected to compromise on a given issue if they feel a student is below their expectations. Virtual tutors should keep this in mind when they tutor students and issue failing grade point averages.

The Online Learning Platform Spotlight also highlighted three main areas of customer service: Provider transparency on student satisfaction, availability of qualified providers, and the referral process for tutoring.
